Oliver Glasner is continuing his first full spell as Crystal Palace manager, overseeing tactical and structural changes aimed at stabilising the Premier League club following a difficult run of results earlier in the season. The Austrian coach, appointed in February 2024, has been tasked with improving performances and integrating younger players, according to statements from the club.

Oliver Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson on a contract running through the 2025–26 season, becoming Palace’s first permanent managerial appointment in nearly three years. The club said at the time that his hiring was part of a longer-term strategy to modernise its playing style and improve consistency in league performance.

The 50-year-old built his reputation in Germany, winning the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 and previously guiding Wolfsburg to Champions League qualification. Palace officials cited his experience in high-intensity pressing systems and squad development as key factors behind the appointment.

Since arriving at Selhurst Park, Glasner has implemented a back-three system and emphasised quicker transitions, while also giving extended minutes to academy graduates. Club data released this season shows an increase in high turnovers and chances created compared with the final months of the previous campaign.

Speaking after a recent league fixture, Glasner said the focus remains on incremental progress rather than short-term results. “The process is important. We need to be brave with the ball and disciplined without it,” he said in comments published by the club.

Palace remain in the lower half of the Premier League table, but officials have maintained that Glasner’s mandate extends beyond immediate league position, prioritising identity, fitness standards and squad balance ahead of future transfer windows.
